Laura Ruth Loyd, age 78, of Theodore, Alabama, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020, at her home.
Laura Ruth worked for 28 years as a substitute teacher at Theodore High School. She was a member of Schillinger Road Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Loyd, Sr. and parents, James Roy and Eva Mae Felts.
Survivors include her son, Joel "Frankie" Loyd, Jr. (Cheri); daughter, Susie Powell; grandchildren, Rachael McCarthy (Russell), Adam Loyd, Jared Loyd, Desiree Powell, Jillian Powell, Miranda Powell, and Alexis Powell; one great-grandchild, McKinley McCarthy; sister, June Day (David Sr.); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 17, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Pastor Marty McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

A chapel service will be held at 12pm on Monday, 02/17/2020 from Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
