Lila Mae Higginbottom West, 99 - a lifelong Gulf Coast resident, born to William Robert Higginbottom and Winnie Amelia Yeargin Higginbottom in 1922, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with her all of her loved ones who previously passed, on January 5, 2022. Lila was a Jack of all trades. She was well known for being an incredible homemaker. Lila enjoyed baking, (especially for her grandchildren), yardwork, watching westerns, and reading. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and worship time with The Lord, especially while being a member of Cottage Hill Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James R. West, her parents, William Robert Higginbottom and Winnie Amelia Yeargin Higginbottom, Her eight siblings (1 brother and 7 sisters), and her two son's Robert Don Morton and Thurston "Bubba" Morton Jr. She is survived by her three daughters, Robbie Kay Morton, Donna Gail Mattison (Jack Mattison), and Terry Lee McArthur. Her 14 grandchildren: Daphne, Bunny, Kim, Jamie, Paul Jr., Bobby, Fred, Jimmy, Jessica, Bo, Cheyenne, Clint, Chad, Chase, and Curt. As well as 24 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and those who are dear to her that she considered family.

Service Time A funeral service will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL 36619) on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 11:00-12:00 with visitation starting for family at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
