It is with love and cherished memories that we honor the life of Lillian Danette Corrales, who passed peacefully on March 21, 2026, in Hurley, Mississippi. Born on May 16, 1948, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Danette lived a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and unwavering love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Juanita Omega Roden, and her father, James Clifford Nichols.
A proud graduate of Vigor High School, Class of 1966, Danette dedicated her early years to raising her three children, building a strong and loving foundation that would guide generations. Her family was her pride and purpose.
After raising her children, Danette began her career at Mobile Infirmary as a PBX operator. Through dedication and perseverance, she advanced to the role of Manager, serving faithfully for 30 years. She loved her work and the people she worked with, forming lasting friendships and earning deep respect for her leadership and compassion.
Danette found her greatest joy at home, especially when surrounded by family. She loved hosting holiday gatherings, making sure no one ever left hungry. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness. She rarely missed one of her grandchildren's sporting events or activities, proudly cheering them on from the sidelines as their biggest fan.
A devoted Alabama football fan, Danette could always be found cheering on the Crimson Tide with enthusiasm and pride. Game days were serious business, and she celebrated every victory as if she were right there on the field.
She is survived by her devoted children: Tracy Corrales Phillips (Bill), Byron Wade Corrales, and Matthew Wyatt Corrales (Desiree). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Ashley Loren Sumrall (Brandon) and William Joseph Phillips, and a joyful great-grandmother to Evelyn Blake Phillips. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Malone; her nephews, Franklin J. Malone and Richard "Bobo" Malone (Adrianne); her step-grandchildren, Brittany and Seth; and her step-great-grandchild, Jerimiah.
Danette was the steady heart of her family-strong, nurturing, and fiercely loving. Her legacy is one of devotion, resilience, and unconditional love. Though she is no longer with us, the lessons she taught, the meals she prepared, and the love she gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Phillips, Brandon Sumrall, Richard "Bobo" Malone, and Franklin J. Malone.
