Linda Ashford Coarsey peacefully passed away on April 26, 2025. She was a loving mother to all of her children and a generous grandmother to her grandchildren. Linda was born to Nellie and Alton Ashford on May 12, 1942. As a young woman she went to work for South Central Bell as a switchboard operator, and later worked as a receptionist at Baton Rouge Bank. She married Nathan Coarsey in 1970 in Baton Rouge, LA, and they later moved to Mobile in 1976. After many years as a homemaker and mother, she went to work with Nathan for Wager Company in Mobile, from which they both retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Ashford and her sister Janet "Tiny" Wilson, her husband of 55 years, her daughter Judy Wells and her eldest son Stan Coarsey (Amy).
She is survived by her sisters Aurelia "Tug" Coarsey (Joe), Deborah "Tweety" Murray (Wayne), her brother Richard Ashford (Linda), her sons Glenn Coarsey (JJ) , Richard Coarsey (Brian), Gary "Bo" Coarsey (Tammy), and her daughters Debbie Sapp (TC) and Geri O'Dell (Brian), and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted Catholic, and a parishioner of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Mobile for 48 years, where she sang in the choir and served as a lector.

Her memorial service will be April 30, 2025, at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Visitation at 10:00 in the Murphy Center, funeral Mass service at 11:00, and graveside service at noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens where she will be buried next to her late husband and son. Interment will take place in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery 6100 Three Notch Rd. Mobile, AL 36619.
