Linda Hembree Tinnell, 78, of Birmingham, Alabama, went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 19, 2023. She was born on October 21, 1944, in Mobile, Alabama and was raised in Chickasaw, Alabama. She married Richard Len Tinnell Sr in 1961. She dedicated her life to raising her three sons as they relocated to various cities and states with Len’s job. With each transfer she would always say, “Bloom where you are planted” and Bloom she did as she always found and made lifelong friends. She was a loving Mimi to ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She relocated back to Mobile in 1989 and was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Saraland. In 2017, seven years after Len died, she moved to the Chelsea area to be close to her children. It took her no time to “Bloom” as she joined Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea and has been a faithful member for the last six years. She quickly grew to love her church, her Ladies Life Group, and again made special forever friends.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her sons: Richard Tinnell (Kellie) of Chelsea, AL, Keith Tinnell (Lori) of Watkinsville, GA, Chris Tinnell (Beth) of Helena, AL; grandchildren: Hunter Tinnell (Sarah), Jordan Tinnell (Windham), Mallory Ezelle (Trey), Joy Johnson (Mason), Houston Tinnell, Jacob Tinnell, Jillian Tinnell, Hudson Tinnell, and Mattie Tinnell; and great grandchild: Davis Tinnell.
Linda cherished her family and forever enjoyed spending time with them and being a part of their lives. A testimony to this was watching her grandsons and granddaughters look forward to being around her and enjoying time with their Mimi even as they grew to young adults.
Throughout her battle with cancer, her greatest desire was to glorify God. Mimi believed each and every moment of the day, including those moments that seem insignificant, even those times at chemo or visits to the Oncologist as opportunities to glorify God. She never missed an opportunity to pray with her Oncologist. These became such very special times to see her faith in action. She was a living example of 1 Corinthians 10:31.
