Obituary of Lucille Peluso Tutwiler IN THE CARE OF Radney Funeral Home - Mobile Lucille, fondly called “Tut”, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022 in Mobile Alabama at the age of 105. She was born on December 3, 1916 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Upon graduation from St Anne’s Academy, she was a bookkeeper for a savings and loan as well as her family restaurant business. She met her future husband, Peyton Tutwiler III while he was serving as an Army Officer at Camp Chaffee in Fort Smith. They married in 1945 and moved to Mobile when he returned from military service to his previous position as a chemical engineer with International Paper. She remained active as a housewife and mother, serving as Scout leader, school room mother and sewing outfits for her daughters. Lucille began her over 50 year career as a Realtor in 1965 with Gandy Agency and a local builder before joining Roberts Brothers in 1969. She quickly achieved success and admiration of her co-workers. Her associates have said she was an advisor, a mentor and a friend. Her productivity often placed her among the company‘s annual Million Dollar Producer Club. “Tut” received the Realtor Emeritus Award for 40 years of service in 2007. She was delighted to participate in the Annual Women’s Council of Realtors Fashion Show to benefit various non-profit organizations. Johnny Roberts, Chairman Emeritus of Roberts Brothers, Inc was quoted as saying “with her professionalism, empathy and service, she continually epitomized the ideal real estate associate.” Upon her 100th birthday celebration, the Alabama Real Estate proclaimed her the oldest licensed Realtor in the state of Alabama. She has been a faithful member of St Dominic Catholic Church since the 1950’s, and seldom missed a Sunday Mass or a monthly Jubilee Club. She sang in their talent show as recently as 2019. She also enjoyed membership in her neighborhood garden club and a couples’ Mobile Mystic Society where she served as president and several other officer positions. She is preceded in death by her husband, Peyton, of 54 years; parents, Vincent and Mary Gurisco Peluso; sisters, Mary Ellen Peluso and Frances P. Gamboa; and son-in-law, Kenneth N. Paisley. Survivors include daughters, Mary Ellen “Ellie” T Fox (Paul Allen) and Rebekah “Becky” T Paisley of Birmingham AL; grandchildren, Dr. Peyton A. Paisley (Dr. Kim) of Mountain Brook AL, Dr. Cameron S. Paisley (Ashley) of Vestavia AL, and Dr. Brittney R. Paisley (Dr. Aaron Scheidies) of Lynnwood WA; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Audrey and Charlotte Paisley, Greyson, Liam and Kendall Paisley, and Kennan, Tut, and LouElla Scheidies, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private family graveside service will be held on Friday, August 19th officiated by the Reverend Deacon Aldon Ward of St Dominic Catholic Church.
