Maggie Jean (Johnson) Odiorne was born on December 5, 1932 in Guntersville, Alabama and passed away at home on March 7, 2020 at the age of 87 in Carmichael, California after suffering with Alzheimer’s for many years. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 69 years Robert (Bob) T. Odiorne Jr. and her parents Hermon and Maggie Johnson, sisters Hattie and Nell and brother Bill Johnson. She is survived by her brother L H Johnson of Mobile, AL, son Robert T. (Ted) Odiorne III (Barbara) and grandson Chad of Carmichael, CA, granddaughter Alicia (Jason) and great grandson Hudson Latoski of Elk Grove, CA. She graduated from Murphy High School, Mobile, AL and married her sweetheart, Robert (Bobby) on December 31, 1950 at First Baptist Church in Chickasaw, AL. She began her career at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, AL and later graduated from Sacramento State University with a Master’s Degree in English and became a high school teacher. Known as “Mimi” to her family. She was a loving mom and grandmother and was very active in her church. She loved to write and published some of her poems. The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 19 2020 at Mobile Memorial Gardens with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and grave-side service at 12:00 noon. Arrangements are being handled by Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL 36619.
