Marie Elaine Blackwell, a resident of Chunchula, AL, passed away on Monday, January 5th, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born in Lake Charles, LA, on September 23, 1941. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marie, her two brothers, Johnnie and Kenneth, and her mom, Mary. So much to say and not enough space to say everything about Elaine. She was one "special" lady. She lived life to the fullest. She loved her family dearly. She was the best mom to her special needs daughter, Marie. She was bigger than life. Elaine enjoyed Mardi Gras and became queen in 2019 of the Mobile Mystics Ladies Organization. She will be missed tremendously. Her loss has left a hole in each of our hearts. Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Ray Wiggins, and her children, Elizabeth Hamner (Baron), Cheryl Blackwell Fearn, Kenneth Blackwell (Robin), and Larry Blackwell (Trish). She is survived by her grandchildren, Shaun (Lauren), Tiffany Hamner, Angela Wasden, Adam (Ruth Ann), Erik (Danyell), Alexus (Delton), Aaron Blackwell, Jordyn (Paul), Jada Blackwell, and Hosanna (Timothy); and her great-grandchildren, Maddox, Allissa, Austen, Baylee, Luke, Liam, Joseph, Jessa Ruth, Amelia, Jamie, Alora Jane, Eleanor, Kohen, Gracelyn, Asher, and Elizah.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10 am for family, with family receiving friends from 10 am to 11 am. Services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Serenity Funeral Home on Old Pascagoula Rd. Graveside service will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Three Notch. The celebration of life reception will be held at Oak Park Church on Sollie Rd.
