Marion Katherine Rogers Prine, a native and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the age of 75. Marion was the first female hired in the Degussa plant warehouse in the mid 1970’s and retired as a chemical laboratory technician after many years of service. She later worked for Spring Hill Toyota and Lexus of Mobile. Among other activities, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley “Ley” Cooper Prine; her parents, Marion Hershel Rogers and Essie Mae Whitten McDaniel; and her son, Timothy Daniel Whittington. Her survivors include one son, Bradley C. (Lisa) Phillips; her siblings, Wanda Rogers (Calvin) Deese, Willard (Mary Jo) Rogers, Elissa Rogers (William) Stillings, Phillip (Maritas) Rogers and Julie McDaniel (Mark) Huff; two grandchildren, Jordan Phillips and Kristen Phillips; nieces; nephews; other relatives; friends and her canine companions, Ami and Max. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12:00 Noon until service. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Marion’s name be made to Lifegate Ministries, Christ United Methodist Church, 610l Grelot Road, Mobile, AL 36609 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A chapel service will be held at 2pm on Monday, 10/07/2019 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
