Marsha Parham Butler, age 73, of Mobile, passed away Wednesday, May 6th at USA Health University Hospital. Marsha was born in Mobile, AL August 7, 1946. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1964. She was a member of Regency Church of Christ and a long-time volunteer at Mobile Infirmary. Marsha worked as an administrative assistant for twenty-three years until her retirement in 2001. Marsha was an active member of a Mobile Mystic Society for many years. She loved Mardi Gras and Alabama football.
Marsha lived life to the fullest. She was adventurous and energetic, always on the go. Marsha had many friends and always enjoyed her time with them. She was happiest when planning, hosting, or attending parties with her people. Marsha was known for her optimistic attitude, her infectious smile, and her kind and loyal heart. When she made a friend, she was a friend for life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Butler. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Fulton, grandchildren, Wallace and Holly, stepdaughters and their husbands Tami and Kent Smith, Kerry Butler-Cooley and Wendell Cooley and their son Thomas, Ashley and Roger Lanning and their son Alex, and their son and his wife, Aaron and Cheyenne, one great granddaughter, McKenna, sister and brother-in-law Judy and Dick Gray, as well as nephews and other relatives.
She loved life, her family, her friends and her church. She will be missed by all that knew her.A graveside service will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 15, 2020. The family request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Veterans of Foreign Wars.
