Martin Reginald Nelson, of Loxley, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022. He was 78 years old. He served in the U.S Air Force at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and moved back to Mobile in 1967 where he served many years as Treasurer at Tillmans Corner Church of God. He later became an active member of Forest Hill Church of God, where he had many cherished friendships and was active in his Sunday School class. He retired from BellSouth Telephone Company after 32 years of service and later from his beloved construction company, Eastern Shore Builders. Martin had a passion for building houses and was an exceptional contractor.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman Reginald Nelson, and Leola Tillman Nelson. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of his most cherished assets; his family, beginning with his devoted wife, Priscilla "Sally" Nelson of 59 years, two sons: Kenneth Reginald Nelson (Kirsten) and Jeffery Martin Nelson, five grandchildren: Conner Nelson, Kayleigh Nelson, Cade Nelson, Arabella Nelson and Alex Nelson. One brother: Donald B. Nelson, two sisters: Judy Nelson Hacker and Cathy Nelson Johns, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Friday, July 29, 2022. Visitation will be from noon to 2 pm with the service at 2 pm in the chapel. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
