Mary Catherine "Cat" Sheffield. Born in Bessemer, Alabama on October 15, 1936 to Annie Mae Harrison and Joe Bill Yarbrough who preceded her in death. She passed peacefully at her home on June 11, 2021. She was a beloved homemaker and community volunteer. She loved cooking for her family and having them around her at every opportunity to spoil the grandchildren. She had a servant heart that showed by the way she cared for those around her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie, "Buck" Sheffield and Linda Jo Sheffield whom she was joyfully reunited with. She is survived by her children, Mrs. Brenda (Steve) Taylor, Mr. Johnnie (Jamie) Sheffield, Jr., Mr. Steve (Becky) Sheffield, Mr. Stoney Sheffield. Her grandchildren: Mrs. Niva (Dave) Rhodes, Mr. Steve Taylor, Jr., Mr Thomas (Jesse) Adkins-Taylor, Mrs. Cathy (Brian) Lyman, Ms. Kristin Richardson, Mrs. Amy (Jared) Seaman, Ms. Jandi Sheffield, Mrs. Kailey (Logan) Gray, Mr. Corey (Ashley) Sheffield, Ms. Anna Marie Sheffield, Mr. David (Michelle) Sheffield, Steven Sheffield and Matthew Ryan Sheffield, who preceded her in death.Cat was also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her brother, Bill (Brenda) Yarbrough. Her love, laughter and cooking will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with 11 a.m. visitation followed by 12 p.m. chapel service.
