Melba Simmons Buchanan, age 88, resident of Chickasaw, AL, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard A. and Daisy Lucas Simmons, Infant Buchanan, brother, Buddy Simmons and sister, Dorothy Parrott.
Melba retired from International Paper Company after many years of service. She was an avid Auburn football fan and her happiest moments were those spent with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Saraland Church of Christ.
Mrs. Buchanan is survived by her children; Carol Butler, Terry Buchanan, Larry Buchanan (Renee) and David Buchanan. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Alex Harvison (Jason), Chris Butler (Elsy), T. J. Buchanan, Nick Butler (Reena), Savannah Buchanan, Hannah Buchanan, Haley Buchanan and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland, on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A chapel service will be held at 2pm, on Friday, 09/04/2020 from Radneys Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
