Michael Wayne Hopkins, Sr., 64, was born May 4, 1957, in Mobile, Alabama to the late Grady and Eleanor Christine Harvell Hopkins. He passed on September 17, 2021, in Mobile, Alabama. Michael retired from USA Health Children’s and Women’s Hospital in maintenance following many years of dedicated services. He served this grateful nation by enlisting within the United States NAVY, ranking an E6 Quartermaster. Michael was a member of the American Legion Post # 153. He was a born-again Christian.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents: his late wife, Vivian W. Hopkins; and two brothers: Chris Hopkins and Paul Hopkins.
Left to cherish Michael’s wonderful memories will be his beloved wife, Charlotte Cooper Hopkins, seven children: Michael (Mickey) Hopkins, Jr., Stephanie Hopkins, Shaun Shirah, Randy Shirah, Jared Cooper, Clark Balentine, Wesley Balentine; one brother, Kenneth Hopkins; along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Honoring Michael as pallbearers will be Shaun Shirah, Jared Cooper, Michael (Mickey) Hopkins, Jr., James Shirah, Randy Merchant and Clark Balentine.

A visitation for Michael will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM with Bro. Steve Norman officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama.
