Minnie L. “MooMoo” Austin

April 28, 1919 - August 29, 2022
Minnie L. Austin, or affectionately known as “MooMoo” to those who loved her, went home to be with her Lord that she had served faithfully for so long, on Monday, August 29, 2022, at the age of 103. Minnie was born April 28, 1919, in Keego, Alabama to James and Addie Bell Levens. She was one of seven children. Minnie loved to travel, to take trips near or far and going shopping. Her love of shopping was always reflected in how she dressed, always looking so beautiful and put together from her earrings down to her shoes. Minnie was a lifelong member of Shadowlawn Baptist Church, where she became a member and was baptized in 1951. She was also the Sunday school secretary for many years. She was always a Godly example to her family and all who knew her. But most of all she loved her Lord and loved her family. She was preceded in death parents, James and Addie Bell Levens, siblings, Clarice Lomax, Tommy Levens, Jimmy Levens, Winnie “BoBo” Rotch and Linnie Magon; and son-in-law, Robert “PeeWee” Saunders. She is survived by her children, Gwendolyn Saunders and Ronnie (Edna) Sterling; grandchildren, Susan (Kruggie) Williamson, Sterling (Kelly) Saunders, Christie (Mike) White and Amie Domingue (Brad Hudson); great-grandchildren, Cameron (Morgan) White, Brett (MacKenzie) White, and Brooke White; Caleb Williamson (Holly Wiggins), and Josh Williamson, Lacie Domingue, and Alex Domingue and Faith Kofonis; her great-great grandchildren, Maddie and Camrey White and Bryce, Drew and Casen White; and her sister, Joyce Brown; along with lots of nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. MooMoo was a woman of few words, but her sweet, loving spirit spoke louder than words. To have known her was to love her, and that we all can agree. She will be missed immensely by so many….MooMoo, we love you more.
