Mr. Richard William Lisenba

June 13, 1964 - July 18, 2024
Richard William “Rick” Lisenba, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, surrounded by his family and closest friends. He was 60 years old. Rick was a devoted husband to Catherine Victoria “Vickie” Lisenba and a loving father to their daughter, Camrynne Alexa “Lexi” Lisenba. His family was the center of his world and he was a constant source of grounding, unwavering love, strength, and support. Rick was also a cherished friend, known for his sense of humor and wit, his kindness, gentle nature, generosity, and unfaltering loyalty. Rick dedicated many years to serving his country and community. He began at the Mobile Water Works before joining the Army National Guard and serving his country as a medic in the Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm). His commitment to service continued in his civilian life as a City of Mobile firefighter, paramedic, and as an emergency room R.N. Rick’s faith played a significant role in his life and shaped the man he was. He was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church during his early years before later joining Christ United with his family. Rick attended Greystone Christian School for both primary and high school before earning his degree from the University of South Alabama. He later continued his education in the medical field at the University of Mobile. Rick was a die-hard Alabama Crimson Tide fan who looked forward to the start of SEC football in the fall and watching or attending games with his longtime friend, Charley Dickens. Rick was a military history buff. He enjoyed scuba diving, cycling, playing golf, fishing, and hunting, often with his lifelong best friend, Scott Smith. Rick also enjoyed family beach trips and opportunities to watch Lexi play soccer and participate in other sports and musical endeavors. Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara H. Lisenba; his father, William “Bill” Lisenba; and brother, Randall Lisenba. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered support, love, and prayers during this difficult time and who supported Rick and his family during his illness. Your kindness and compassion have been a source of strength and comfort. Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love, kindness, and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
