Robert (Bob) Charles Joyce, 80 years old, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on September 25, 2022. Bob was born on January 17, 1942, to Russell and Dorothy Joyce in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from Boone High School in Orlando, Florida, he shortly entered the army. He went on to a 47 year career with Firestone/Bridgestone, he truly loved the business; working his way up from entry level jobs to store manager, district manager, and corporate accounts. His love of tires led him to watching and supporting NASCAR and truck series racing. It was one of his favorite hobbies. His family time was super important to him in his life. Family gatherings always held a top priority. Golf was a game he picked up much later in life. He said many a time, "I may not have the lowest score, but I can look nice on the course." Meeting him on the golf course led to his other passions - talking to people. He never met a stranger. He was the best listener, which is a lost art. He was genuinely interested in other people's experiences. He loved college football. His first love was Florida State. He grew up in Florida in his young adult life. Moving to Alabama started his interest in Alabama football. He really enjoyed the level of competition in the SEC. Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brother Mart Joyce, and sister Betty Williams. He is survived by his brothers Bill (Sonia) Joyce, Tom (Sandy) Joyce, sister Trish Joyce, his wife of 56 years Mary Sue Joyce, his daughters Christy Joyce, Robin J. Swinney (David), and Kathryn Joyce, his grandchildren Wesley (Torree) Howard, Andrew White-Spunner, Ryan Swinney, Alexis Swinney, Ruby Adams, and great-grandson Weston; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
