Peggy Ruth Crutcher Turnbow, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend departed this life Thursday, June 16. Peggy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana where she attended Fairpark High School. She attended Harding College where she was involved both as a vocalist and accompanist in chorus and ensembles, made many friends and met the love of her life, Bob. The two began their life together in 1952, recently celebrating their 70th anniversary. They loved and supported each other throughout their lives, including over forty years working together in their family CPA practice. She was a piano teacher and a kindergarten teacher, as well as a dedicated volunteer for her children's schools and other organizations. She loved the Lord and was a member of Port City Church of Christ. She loved reading, gardening, swimming, the beach, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her talents of singing, painting, and playing the piano, she was talented at always finding the bright side of life and seeing beauty in everything. She will be truly missed by many who loved her dearly.
Peggy was preceded by her son, Robert Wood "Woody" Turnbow, Jr. and her parents, Edwin Puryear Crutcher, and Era Mae Tipton Crutcher. She is survived by her husband, Robert Wood Turnbow, son Donny Turnbow, daughter Tracey Lane, son-in-law Dan Lane, and daughter-in-law Tammy Turnbow (Woody's wife). She is also survived by her grandchildren Win Turnbow, cailey turnbow, Cru Turnbow, Alaina Turnbow, Daniel Lane, Mary Elise Lane, and Anna Ruth Lane.

A service will be held graveside at Mobile Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 23. The arrangements are being handled by Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home.
