Eva Marlene Lawrence Harred was born in North Hopkins County, Texas on June 28,1925. Her parents were Wilbur and Ada Lawrence. She had an older sister, Darlene, and a younger sister, Merlene. Years later her mom gave birth to her beloved little brother, L.J. Massey. Growing up she attended small country schools until starting and graduating from Sulphur Springs High School in 1943.
After graduation, Eva moved to Dallas, Texas and found employment in the wartime aircraft industry. After WW II was over, she moved back to Hopkins County and married her long-time boyfriend, Bascom Harred. After picking cotton for a few weeks, they decided to move to Dallas and find employment there.
Eva became a bookkeeper and a mom in Dallas, giving birth to Larry(1951) and Garry(1955). She became a stay-at-home mom enjoying cooking, gardening and raising her boys. She also made sure they learned about Jesus, taking them to several different churches during their growing-up years. She was personally a student of the Bible and a prayer warrior for her family and friends.
After her boys were grown and she retired, Eva became an avid fresh-water fisherman.She and Bascom fished often in different lakes in North Texas. In her later years she became a caregiver for her husband until his death in 2013. In the following years she enjoyed Life at Brookside Community and Somerby Senior Living.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters and her oldest son.
Sheis survived by her son,Garry(Jeanne), her daughter-in-law, Jane, her brother, L.J. Massey, 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 11 at Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 10am and the service at 11am. Burial will be at Mobile Memorial Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers. donations may be made to Woodridge Baptist Church
