Laura Merle Hudson Zay, age 94, was born in Bourbon, Mississippi on March 29, 1930 and passed away on July 29, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Mamie Hudson, her husband Bill Zay, her sister, Louise Etheredge and her brothers, Willie "Peck", Stu and Clyde Hudson.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Helen Hudson, Grace Zay, and Judy Gilroy, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
After graduating from murphy High School in 1949, she joined the Air Force where she met her husband.
Her faith in God was a constant in her life. She loved her family, her pets and Christmas. She retired from Disney World after working in the Christmas Village for years. Her laugh was contagious.
The family wishes to thank the in-home care givers of Grace Point, the staff of Gordon Oaks Memory Care Unit, the staff at Mobile Nursing and Rehab, as well as the staff of Gentiva Hospice Care.
