Belinda loved music, quilting, and researching family genealogy; and spent many hours and hard work at
her chosen hobbies. She was a member of a quilting group at Cottage Hill Baptist Church called “Sow &
Sew”. She was also a member of the Bonnie Blue Flag 2124 UDC organization.
She played clarinet, beginning in seventh grade at Azalea Road Middle School, continuing through

She liked to describe herself as “honest, hardworking, and loved serving the Lord in music ministry”.
Belinda was fortunate in being able to perform in the Tulip Time International Music Festival in Holland
with the Murphy Symphonic Band in 1974, which won first place. The band was awarded a sterling silver
treble clef on a marble base.
