It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Virginia Cooper on Tuesday, March 20th, at the age of 95, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in 1929 in Wales, England, Pat's early passion for dance led her to a remarkable journey. A classically trained ballerina, she danced with the International Ballet at the age of 15, captivating audiences with her grace and talent. Transitioning to the world of acting, she became a Starlet with the J. Arthur Rank Film Studio, showcasing her skills on stage and screen in London's West End and numerous films.
At the age of 18, Pat found her lifelong partner in Aden Jack Cooper, a Merchant Seaman from Rosington, Alabama. Their union was a true love story, blossoming from the moment they met in England. In 1949, Pat and Jack settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where they embarked on a successful career in real estate. Their journey eventually led them to Mobile, Alabama, where they founded Cooper & Co. Inc., REALTORS in 1970. Over five decades, Pat's leadership and dedication helped grow the company to five offices and 140 agents, serving the Alabama Gulf Coast community with integrity and excellence.
Beyond her professional achievements, Pat was a beacon of generosity and mentorship, guiding countless agents in her 50+ year career to success and celebrating their achievements as her own. Her passion for dance remained undiminished, and she tirelessly supported the Mobile Ballet throughout her life, most notably serving on their Board of Directors.
Pat's faith was the cornerstone of her life, evident in her devotion to Cottage Hill Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Above all, Pat cherished her role as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
Pat is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aden Jack Cooper, and grandson, Jeff Dees (Gabi). She is survived by her three children, Tony (Sue) Cooper, Lynnell (Ron) Morrow and Sheree (Mike) Dees; stepdaughter, Sandra (Jim) Waltman; grandchildren, David (Meghan) Cooper, Jacklyn Cooper, Julie (Brian) Eiler, Ryan (Virginia) Morrow, Jenny (Mike) Barnett, Gabi Dees, Cindy (Steve) Schuhmann and Jay Waltman; great-grandchildren, Jack Cooper, Cole Elliott, Addison Eiler, Gage Morrow, Faye Morrow, Laney Barnett, Brooks Barnett, Kelsea (Tyler) Haas and Jake (Kati) Schuhmann.
