Pat was born on Thursday, January 2, 1947 and passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Born and raised in
Prichard, AL, Pat graduated from Vigor High School in 1965. During her years at Vigor, she met the love of her life Don Morgan and the high school sweethearts were married in 1966. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage together. Their marriage has been a testament to faithfulness, selfless service, and enduring love. Soon after marrying, Don and Pat welcomed two children, Mike, born in 1969, and Debbie, born in 1972.
Pat enjoyed many things in life, but there is not much she enjoyed more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. Over the years, her family grew when Mike married Julie and they had three children: Kenzie, Gage, and Katie; and Debbie had two children: Taylor and Avery. Pat took her role as "Nanny" seriously, and she spent years caring, loving, and laughing with these grandchildren. For Pat's grandchildren, their Nanny has made an impact on them that they could never forget, and they will miss her dearly. To Pat's great delight, Kenzie and her husband Scott gave her two great grandchildren, Camryn and Ryker, who have been very dear to her. When Pat was not with her family, she was serving her local church body at First Baptist Tillmans Corner. Pat enjoyed spending time with her Sunday school class, and she especially loved serving as the Central Drop-off Logistics Coordinator for the annual Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry through Samaritan's Purse. Through her service in this role, countless children around the world have heard the gospel and had opportunities to trust in Christ.
Pat was preceded in death by her siblings, Jan, Jean, and Glenn Hughes; and her daughter Debbie Morgan. Pat is survived by her loving husband Don; her brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Judy Hughes; her son and daughter-in-law Mike and Julie; her five grandchildren and their spouses, Kenzie and Scott Webber, Gage and Savannah Morgan, Katie and Keldon Mort, Taylor Morgan, and Avery Jordan; and her two great grandchildren, Camryn and Ryker Webber.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11AM at First Baptist Tillmans Corner in Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM. Burial will follow the service at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

It was hard to believe that my special sweet friend had met her Savior and will spend Christmas in His presence. I know we Wii see each other one day.
One area we made such precious memories is, working throughout the year on the Shoebox ministry at FBTC. Working to show children across the world that Jesus loves them was displayed in every box. She lived her love for Jesus.
I am praying for you Don and the entire extended family. Just remember that “God will not leave you nor forsake you. “ She is waiting for you. We will praise Him forever together. Miss you guys and praying for you. All my love. Love Sherry
Pat will be greatly missed. A great Christian lady dedicated to serving others. It was always a pleasure to work with her in the shoebox ministry. Many young people have been reached for our Lord because of her love for this ministry. Pat always did a great job and had the respect and admiration of all who worked with her. All suffering is now past and she is with her Lord and Savior.
