Peggy Jean Carpenter Kilcrease, 88, of Grand Bay, went to be with our Lord Saturday, October 24, 2020. Born July 16, 1932 in Holden, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Randolph and Beulah King Carpenter. Peggy married her high school sweetheart, the late William “Bill” Kilcrease, who was her loving husband of 66 years. In 1963, she and Bill moved to Grand Bay, where she was a devoted mother and homemaker. A devout Christian, Peggy was a founding member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Bay, established in 1965. In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors, birdwatching and tending to her wide variety of flowers and plants. In retirement, Peggy and Bill loved traveling through Canada and Alaska in their motorhome with their beloved dog, Buddy, and faithful cat, Cocoa. Peggy is survived by her loving son, David (Kathryn) Kilcrease; three grandchildren, Angie Kilcrease Broun, Ashley Kilcrease (Jason) Parham, and Hayden Carpenter Kilcrease; and two great-grandchildren, Dillan Ready and Breanna Broun. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was predeceased by her brothers, Ralph Randolph Carpenter and Jerry Lester Carpenter, and her eldest son, Kenneth Terrell "Terry" Kilcrease. Peggy's memorial will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 with a visitation at 10:30 a.m. and service at 12 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, located at 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama 36619.
