Apostle Ralph Charles “Chuck” Carmichael Sr., son of the late Mattie and John Carmichael, was born on February 21, 1955 in Mobile, Alabama. He attended public schools in Mobile County and graduated from B.C. Rain High School, where he ran track and was a member of the ROTC. Ralph’s experience in the ROTC led to a period of service in the U.S. military after which he was honorably discharged. Ralph went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Alabama. While in college he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. In his early days Ralph enjoyed a successful career as a salesman at Dillards and later the Ford Motor Company where he earned the title of number one salesman for four consecutive years. Ralph lived in Atlanta, Georgia for a few years, during which time he worked as a radio announcer and he even had his own television segment. Ralph was a business owner and he founded West Bay Christian Center. He had a love for real estate and had amassed various plots of land and commercial buildings. Apostle Carmichael was a bit of a philanthropist mentoring youth in the city of Mobile and donating funds to local charities. He played an active role in politics. In 2014 he ran as a Republican party candidate for a local seat. Ralph also worked with politicians stationed across the U.S. and in the White House. He had a love for people and a desire to evoke change, which formed a foundation for him to work on various boards in the city of Mobile. The boards focused on specific areas such as Maysville and assistance for low income and impoverished areas. Ralph married Angelitta Allison on June 2, 1979. They would have been married 42 years June 2021. Their union was blessed with four children Shiquitha Boykin, Erin (Bobby) Rembert, Courtney Carmichael and Ralph Carmichael II. The Carmichaels made their home in Mobile, Alabama. Ralph Carmichael was of the Christian faith and an active member in his local church. Word of Life Ministries International, which is now Keys to Successful Living Incorporated, was founded by Apostle Carmichael as well as several churches in Jamaica, Haiti, and the Philippines. Ralph was knowledgeable on a wide range of topics and was affectionately called “the walking encyclopedia” by his children. Ralph loved to be by the water and enjoyed the beach and boats. His interests included golf and chess. Some of his favorite shows and movies were Miami Vice, James Bond, Star Wars, Star Trek and Jaws. He was adored, loved, cherished and admired by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Ralph Carmichael went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2021. He was 66 years old. He was proceeded in death by his father and mother John and Mattie Carmichael, two uncles W.C. Carter and Odell Carter and two aunts Martha Hill and Myrtle Turner (Preston Turner – deceased), and one great-grandson Otis Fralin. He is survived by beloved wife, Angelitta Carmichael, three daughters: Shiquitha Boykin, Erin (Bobby) Rembert, and Courtney Carmichael, one son Ralph Charles Carmichael, II., grandchildren: Daniel Rembert, Ava Rembert, Marvin Peters, Jasmine Peters, Joshua Peters, Melissa Demetrii Perry, Kaeylan Perry, Michael Fralin, as well as a host of great, grandchildren, four aunts: Willie Mae (Oscar - deceased) Johnson, Ethel Mae (Silas - deceased) Washington, Clara (Eddie - deceased) Barnes, Gladys (Arthella) Daniels; four uncles: Lloyd Carter, James (Kathryn) Carter, Roy Lee (DeLois) Carter, Samuel Carter and a host of family and friends. Friends and family are invited to Ralph’s homegoing services Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 411 S. Broad St. Mobile, AL 36603. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. The home going service will begin at 11:00am. The eulogy will be officiated by Bishop Angelitta Carmichael of Keys to Successful Living, Inc. Funeral services will be provided by Small’s Mortuary, 950 S Broad St., Mobile, AL 36603. Entombment services will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama 36619. Ralph will be laid to rest in the Chapel of Grace Mausoleum 3, wall G, row E, crypt 9. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will not be a repass following the service. The Carmichael-Rembert-Carter families would like to thank Small’s Mortuary, Keys to Successful Living Ministries and Mobile Memorial Gardens for their thoughtfulness and professionalism. Isaiah 40:31 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 411 S. Broad St. Mobile, Al. 36603 followed by a commital service at the grave site.
