Rev. Gerald W. Sullivan, age 73, of Mobile, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Gerald Sullivan was the 1965 graduate of Satsuma High School. He attended Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida where he earned multiple degrees in Theology and a Master’s Degree in Education. While attending Southeastern University, he met and married the love of his life, Janice Busby. This past July, Pastors Jerry and Janice Sullivan celebrated their 53rd Wedding Anniversary. In those 53 years, they faithfully served in the ministry, pastored multiple churches, founded Living Word Church, and led many international missions outreaches. His life and ministry made a major Kingdom Impact from building the local church to preaching the Gospel week in and week out in the pulpit, on the radio, and around the globe, to loving and encouraging people and leading his family. Gerald loved His Church, loved his family, and loved spending time with his grandsons. He is remembered for his life and legacy of faith in God. He was preceded in death by his parents GW and Mary Charles Sullivan and his in-laws, Rev. Norman and Maxine Busby. Survivors include his wife, Janice Sullivan; son, Rev. Brad Sullivan, and wife, Mary Sullivan; his daughter, Bridgette Sullivan; grandsons, Slade and Sidney Sullivan; sister, Debbie Kilpatrick (Terry Kilpatrick); and a loving Church family. Due to the current pandemic situation, there will be a private service to celebrate Rev. Sullivan’s life at his church, Surge Church on Dawes Road, on Saturday, August 22, 2020. However, friends are invited to participate in a Drive Through Visitation at the front entrance of the Church to sign the register book and pay their respects to the family from 9:30 am -10:30 am. The service will be recorded and will be available below for those unable to attend. Burial will take place at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Surge Church to help his wife Mrs. Janice Sullivan with medical expenses.
