A graveside memorial service for Rex Baker will be held at the cemetery 11:00 AM on Wednesday, 08/12/2015. Family and friends will meet at the Three Notch Rd entrance and drive to the burial site together.
Mar. 8, 1920 – Aug. 6, 2015 Rex Baker, 95, of Mobile, AL, entered into rest Thursday, August 6, 2015, at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pastor Tom Carter will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Radney Funeral Home, Mobile. A native of Prentiss, MS, Mr. Baker had resided in Mobile since 1952. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army serving campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. Mr. Baker was a local musician in and around Mobile who played regularly at the Old Cooking School Event in the 1950’s. He was a piano tuner by trade and sang in the choir. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Baker. Mr. Baker is survived by his two children, Dave (Alice) Baker of Semmes, AL and Linda Baker, Baltimore, MD, two grandchildren, David Baker, II and Rebekah Baker (Michael) Orlando, and one great-grandchild, Reagan Orlando.
