Robert Gary Browning, 72 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
A native of Mobile, AL and a residence of Daphne, AL, Gary attended Greystone Christian School and Bob Jones Academy. He graduated from the University of Mobile with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master from Cornerstone University in Clinical Christian Counseling.
Gary loved helping hurting people and had dedicated his life to personal recovery. He was a Pastor, Minister of Music, Teacher, Author, Counselor and Friend. Gary pastored at Eastern Shore Covenant and Atlanta Covenant Church for many years. He ministered regularly at Wings of Life, Home of Grace for Women, The Shoulder, numerous groups, organizations, as well as individual counseling. Also, he started many Discovery Groups around the Southeast.
Gary is predeceased by his father, S.T. Browning; mother, Jeanette Browning Windham; and stepson, Keiron McGowin.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda McGowin Browning; children, Bart Browning (Maritza), Jason Browning (Emily), Chad Browning (Rachel), LeMoyne Runquist (Zach), Reese Browning (Lesley); stepson, Jason McGowin (Lauren); stepdaughter-in-law, Dana McGowin; a sister, Sandra Sims (Larry); a nephew, Scott Sims (Angela) and daughter, Hailey; and 14 grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 28, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bart Browning, Jason Browning, Chad Browning, Reese Browning, Jason McGowin, and Scott Sims.

A chapel service will be held at 2pm on Friday, 08/28/2020 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
