Robert Lee Willard, Sr., a dedicated family man and beloved member of the community of Irvington, AL passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama. He was born on August 1, 1950, in Mobile, Alabama, and was a cherished son of Francis Inez Williams and Ambrose Willard. Robert's life spanned 74 years, during which he touched the hearts of many and left an indelible mark on those who knew him. Robert was preceded in death by both of his parents, his stepfather, three brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his loving spouse, Celia Willard, along with his son, Robert Willard Jr. and his wife, Michelle. Additionally, he leaves behind two brothers, three sisters, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude. A man of deep faith, Robert was baptized at Pine Springs Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Irvington. He embodied a full faith in God, which was a guiding light throughout his life. Robert was known for his loving and devoted nature, always prioritizing his family above all else. His kindness and gentle spirit were evident in every interaction, and he inspired those around him to lead lives of purpose and love. For many years, Robert worked diligently as a shrimper out of Bayou La Batre, a profession that connected him to the waters he loved. After this, he dedicated 35 years of service to Mobile Memorial Gardens, where he retired with pride and a legacy of hard work and commitment. His work ethic was matched only by his passion for family and community. In his free time, Robert was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, showcasing his spirited allegiance to the team with pride. This passion for sports was just one of the many ways he engaged with life and the world around him, bringing joy and enthusiasm to those who shared in his interests. As we remember Robert, let us honor the legacy of love, faith, and devotion he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.

Robert's funeral will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on March 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate his life and share the memories that will keep his spirit alive in their hearts. Interment will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
