Robert W. McNew, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, following a long illness. He is the beloved husband of Betty (née Rounsaville) and cherished father and father-in-law to Cheryl Shelley, David McNew (Nikki), and Amy Stockert (Joe); his loving grandchildren, Ben Shelley (Haley), Paul Shelley, Grant McNew, Kyle McNew (Kaitlyn), Jake Stockert and Anna Stockert; and his precious great- granddaughter, Finley Shelley. Another great-granddaughter, Isabella McNew, is expected this summer. Affectionately known as Bob to his friends and family, he was preceded in death by his beloved son-in-law, Mark Shelley (Cheryl), and other cherished family members and friends. His sense of fun and passion for family will be remembered by all who knew him. The 84-year-old's zest for life extended into the business world, where he continued to make an impact through his own insurance agency until his final days.   A funeral service will be held at Mobile Memorial Funeral Home on April 1, 2025. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2 pm, followed by a service in the chapel at 2 pm. The address is 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama 36619.   In remembrance of Bob's life, the family kindly asks that any charitable donations be made to the UAB Comprehensive Transplant Institute-Patient Assistance Fund in Birmingham, Alabama.
