Robert Thomas Kennedy passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the age of 92. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. A native of Grove Hill, he was one of seven children born to Neil Vaden Kennedy and Alyne Meggisnon. The family moved to Mobile where he attended Barton Academy and Murphy High School. After high school, he served as a Sargent in the US Army. He was a self-made man establishing several businesses in the Mobile area, starting with Industrial Rental, Kennedy Industrial, then National Welding. He had a very strong work ethic. He had an ardent love for his family above all things. Some of his favorite things were spending time with them on Dauphin Island, fishing, boating, watching Nascar races, and hours of endless stories. He is survived by his son, Robert Steven (Pam) Kennedy of Bridgeport, WV, his daughter, Stephanie Maria Kennedy of Waleska, GA, and Cynthia Kennedy Langston (Jason) of Mobile as well as his grandchildren, Kimberly, Laurie, Jennifer, Rebecca, Hamp, Ella, Carson, Allie, and 10 Great Grandchildren. He has one living sister, Sue Kennedy Waters (Bud) of Tuscumbia, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Kenneth Earl, Roy Ellis, Vaden Don, and James Edward, along with his sister, Katheryn Kennedy Martin. Visiting hours will take place at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 1:00pm until services at 2:00pm in the chapel. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
