Robert (Bob) Williams Jr., born June 3, 1930 and a native of St. Elmo, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died July 17, 2020.
He retired as an instructor at Southwest State Technical College after 36 years. He served 4 years in the navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church for 42 years and a member of Dayspring Baptist Church since 1999.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Emily Williams, sisters Blanche Barnard, Bonnie Williams, and brother Ralph Williams, and his lovely wife, Pat, of 51 years. He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Williams, Curtis (Shelley) Williams, one daughter Kay (Steven) Guinn, one sister Doris (John) Stevens, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Our family is especially grateful to our father’s helper and friend, Mrs. Ollie Mae Samuels. We are forever thankful for her many kindnesses.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dayspring Baptist Church 2200 S. Cody Rd Mobile, AL 36695.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 21st at 10am at the graveside at Mobile Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Hall as pastor. The family will receive friends after the service in the chapel of the funeral home.
