Roberta Greenwood Blake, known to all who knew her as Bobbie, died Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the age of 88 in Mobile, Alabama.
Bobbie was a native of Chicago, Illinois and long time resident of Mobile, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joel Harris Blake and her parents Josephine and Stanley Richard Greenwood.
She is survived by her sister Virginia Visin (Alan) of Crystal Lake, IL and by her sons Joel Richard Blake (Darlene) of Edmund, OK Chris Blake (Sue) of New Ulm, MN Gary Blake (Sue) of Mobile, AL and Jon Blake (Shannon) of Mobile, AL.
She is also survived by her grandchildren who knew her as Grammie; Joel Matthew Blake (Corybeth), Sean Blake (Nikki), Jenny Mangiameli (Chris), Olivia Blake (Nam Nguyen), Dr. Kayla Blake (David Mason), Connor Blake, David Blake, Erin Blake, and William Blake.
She was blessed with great grandchildren which made her sparkle; Rowan Blake, CharlieKate Blake, Kinsley Blake, Zoey Mason, and Luca Mangiameli along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobbie graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. She found her passion in art and went on to serve as the art teacher in the Illinois school system while also finding time to paint and draw. Pictures of hers have been given as gifts to people nationally and international.
She was an active member of the St. Dominics Catholic Parrish in Mobile, AL; really seeing the parish as a family. Over the years, Bobbie was active in the Jubilee Club, the Red Hat Club, the Legion of Mary, and loved to decorate the church for special seasons like Christmas and Easter.
During the summer months, Bobbie loved to vacation in Ontario Canada at the family lakeside property where she was able to unplug from the day-to-day challenges.
Generous in nature, Bobbie always had a soft spot for donating to needy causes. Over the last 25 years, she helped support 3 Lakota Indian children at the St. Joseph's Indian School in SD as they grew up to adults, supplying money throughout the years and gifts for the entire community every Christmas.

A visitation for Bobbie will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 10:00AM on February 17th, 2024 with a praying of the Rosary at 11:00AM. There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Dominics Catholic Church at Noon on February 17th 2024 with a procession to the Cemetery for the commencement of her body, graveside. A reception at the Murphy Center at St. Dominics Catholic Church will immediately follow the graveside service.
