Roberta Nall

August 28, 1924 — March 3, 2024
Roberta Pearl Nall, 99, beautiful mother and grandmother was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2024 in Mobile AL. Loving mother of 5, Roberta is preceded in death by her husband, James N. Nall, and daughter, Cathy Nall (Wilson). A devout believer in Jesus Christ, Roberta was a faithful member of St. Mark's Methodist Church. Roberta's witty sense of humor never diminished even at her 99.5 years of age. Her zest for life is an inspiration to anyone who ever met her. A force to be reckoned with, Roberta never gave up living a full life and always moved with elegance and grace.   Roberta is survived by her children, Diane Variali, Robert Nall, Norma Watson, and Michael Nall, her grandchildren Lori Variali (Wilder), Mitzi Variali, Amy (Scott) Cassidy, Jimmy (Missy) Wilson, Chrystal Wilson, Chris (Reanna) Watson, Michelle Nall, Morgan (KD) Edenfield, Mary Catherine Nall, Parker (Molly) Nall, and great-grandchildren Loring Wilder, Mary Nall Wilder, Poppy Watson, Clementine Watson, Oliver Watson, Lexi Ivin, Jade Hoffmeister, Savannah Cassidy, Ford Edenfield, and Addison Nall.   On August 28, 1924, Roberta Pearl was born to Mr. Thomas "Newton" and Ms Viola McInvale of Montgomery, Alabama, as the 7th child of 8 children. Roberta married James Nall and the couple traveled throughout the United States as James was a flight instructor for the US Army during WW2. Finally settling in Mobile, AL, Roberta and James began their family welcoming 5 children.   Countless trips to Dauphin Island earned Roberta the nickname "Sand-crab." She spent her days in the sun as her family played on the beach and cherished afternoons boat side. Always seeking the next adventure, Roberta and James created numerous businesses including M&A Studios, a photography studio in Mobile, AL, which is still operating.   After the passing of her husband James in 1985, Roberta began a career at Gayfer's department store as a distinguished stylist for the next ten years; a career she enjoyed as much as her weekly line-dance sessions.   Roberta was a lifetime golfer. Walking 18 holes a week was her favorite pastime playing at Skyline Country Club and Springhill Golf Course. A member of the Skyline Ladies Golf Association, Roberta won and placed in many golf tournaments.   Roberta was a master in the kitchen. She created her own tropical desert recipe, winning a major cooking contest sponsored by Dannon Yogurt. Roberta was an avid gardener and proudly showed off her prized property to guests.   Roberta Nall's life was a blessing, an inspiration, and a legacy. She is loved by all who knew her and will be sincerely missed. Until we are reunited in Heaven, "Thanks for coming!" We love you, "Berta", "Sweetie", and "Nanny Nall!"
