Roland Bernard (Benny) Gilmore, 82, went home to be with his Lord and his beloved daughter, Suzette, on September 29, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzette Gilmore Rowell; his parents, Leonard and Delora Gilmore; brother, Ronnie (Patricia) Gilmore.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing, wife, LaMerle Gilmore; son, Randy Gilmore; brother, Keith (Terri) Gilmore; nephews who were like sons to him, Kurt (Janie) Thompson, Kevin (Donna) Thompson, Anthony (Valerie) Gilmore; nieces, Adrienne Mims, Christin (Rutledge) Nesmith; a dear friend, Linda Older, whom he considered to be a sister; great nieces and nephews, Jessica, Melissa, Matthew, Darin, their children and other relatives and friends.
He loved animals of all kind, especially his cat, Amelia. He enjoyed tennis, boating, camping and watching football with Paul. He worked for Chevron for over 30 years before retiring.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 3, at 1:00pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00pm from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A chapel service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, 10/3/2020 from Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
