Ruth "Vonnie" Bazzell Barnett, born in Clark County (Manilla) Alabama in 1929. Ruth was the fifth daughter of Elbert and Myrtle Bazzell. Her sisters were Maye Knight (Morris), Louise Truett (Billy), Lucille Bedwell (Joe), Wanda Hindman (Dan) and Evelyn Hass (Curtis). She was married for 71 plus years to Morrison Barnett. They are the parents of two children, Dennis Barnett (Linda) and Karen Davis (Alan), grandchildren Whitney Davis Mulholland, Jordan Davis (Annaleise), Joel Davis(Bellamy), Alicia Barnett Reno (Adam), Elijah Barnett (Karen), nine great grandchildren, sister, Evelyn Hass, and several nieces and nephews. Ruth's Husband served in the Air Force for 24 years. During his service time they were very active members in churches in a few different states. Some of her roles were Sunday School Teacher, VBS worker, Women’s Missionary Union member, and other positions where needed. She is currently a faithful of member of First Baptist Church of Powders Springs.

Visitation will be 1:00PM until 2:00PM October 29, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Powers Springs with a service at 2:00PM. Prior to her burial in Mobile, the family will hold a visitation period for friends and family from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, at the Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile AL. Burial will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Mobile AL. at 1:00 PM November 2, 2021. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge are in charge of arrangements. Friday service will be streamed live on the First Baptist Church of Powder Springs Facebook page and /or church website.
