Catherine was the second child out of four born to Grafton Weldon Mooring and Sarah Elizabeth Hale in Octogon, AL, located in Marengo County. She graduated from Livingston University with her degree in Education in 1956 and married James Allen Hudson in 1959, settling in Mobile, AL.
Catherine taught many young students in the Mobile County Public School system but, found her home at Fulton Road Baptist Church, from which he retired in 1994. She remained a devout and faithful member of Fulton Road Baptist Church, volunteering for VBS and WMU until her passing. She taught the Fourth Grade students and was an avid gardener and bird watcher.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings Grafton Weldon "Joe" Mooring and Florence Rebecca Mooring.
She is survived by her daughter Allison Hudson Laubenthal (Jim) and granddaughter Lindsay Laubenthal, Ashley Barkley, and brother Joseph William "Billy" Mooring (Ellen) and their children Mary Ellen and Samuel Mooring (Brooke) and their children Lucy and Henry. She will be missed by special neighbors, long time friends, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Braden Fincher, Carson Fincher, Jim Laubenthal. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Mooring.
