Sarah Jernigan Ferguson, a native of Mobile, Alabama and a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the age of 92. Sarah was known for her grace, charm, and strength of character. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and heartfelt devotion. She was loyal to family and friends; and was respected by all. Sarah taught each of her children the importance of respect for each other, patience, discipline, forgiveness and love for everyone. She was a proud woman, who loved to give to others. One of her greatest talents was sewing and she shared her talents by sewing for all her family and friends. Sarah was preceded in death by her first husband, William Zimmerman Jernigan; her second husband, Joseph Gant Ferguson; daughter, Cynthia Diane Jernigan Meffi; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Jernigan; granddaughter, Teresa McGraw; and brother, Gerald Baggett. She is survived by her two sons, Michael David Jernigan and Dennis Gerald Jernigan (Tammy); daughter, Cathy Jernigan McGraw; grandchildren, Anthony Ray McGraw, Christopher Griffin, Lyndon Jernigan, Mason, Sheryl Griffin, Sarah Nolan Jernigan Barnett, Evie Marie Jernigan Johnson; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12PM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends before the service, beginning at 11AM. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile, AL.
