Stanley Francis Passet, born June 29, 1938, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and a lifelong resident of Mobile, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, April 25, 2020. He was 81. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Passet, his father, Earnest F. Passet, his sister Phyllis Passet, brother, Robert M. Passet, and grandson, Philip R. Armbrecht.
He graduated from McGill Institute and retired from the City of Mobile Fire Department after 30 years of service and was in the second ever class of EMTs. He was also the co-owner of Cottage Hill Lawn for 35 years. He was tender hearted and loved animals. He also had some great cars in his lifetime, including a Shelby Cobra, a Corvette, and an Austin Healy. His greatest love though, was his family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenda Avent Passet; his daughters, Deborah Passet Cowan (Steve), and Dena Passet Armbrecht; his grandson Davidson Coleman “Cole” Meador, and his granddaughter, Abigail “Abby”Alexandra Armbrecht; and step-granddaughters Helena Cowan Bosch (Will) and Mary Katherine Cowan.
The family would like to acknowledge a debt of gratitude to his friends and neighbors whose affection, help, and support throughout his life and this difficult period has been a blessing.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, there will not be a visitation or memorial service at this time.
