Obituary
Mrs. Thalia Smith Laird- Born in Bakersfield, California and resident of Mobile, AL, Died on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the age of 98. Mrs. Laird was a member of Ashland Place United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruby Muller, her husband, Richard K. Laird, Sr., her sister, Gladys (Miles) Hughes, her brother, James (Helen) Smith, grandsons, Christopher Laird and Michael Laird (Dr. Lauren Moore), Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Serda (Michael), three sons, Mr. Richard K. (Marilyn) Laird, Jr., Mr. Michael (Claire) Laird and Mr. James (Cheryl) Laird, seven grandchildren, Rick Laird, III, Kevin Laird, Matthew (Megan) Laird, Jeremy Laird, Jenny Laird, Daniel Serda and Rachel Serda (Steven) Ortner. She is survived by great-grandchildren: Abby Laird, Kell Laird, Claire-Burton Laird, Kate Laird, Emma Laird, Gabriel Laird, Jacob Laird, Grace Ortner and Jack Ortner, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Laird lived and active life enjoying gardening and socializing. She was very devoted to her family and friends. She followed the teachings of Christ, always willing to help family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, August 6th, 2021 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery Those attending should be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in time to join caravan to the burial site
