Tommie Loretta Burton, was born on August 21, 1953 in Beaumont Texas to Mr. Lawrence Lloyd and Joyce Burton.
The family moved to Los Angeles, California in the 1960's. Tommie accepted Christ at an early age at Victory Baptist Church, Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Gardena High School in Gardena, California in 1971 and attend Los Angeles Trade Technical College. She worked for the City of Los Angeles for 17 years before moving to Alabama. There she married George McMillan on July 31, 1985.
She was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence Lloyd and Joyce Burton and sister-in-law, Monique Scott Burton.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband of 39 years, George McMillan, Jr.; two children, George (Kabrina) McMillan, III, and Alysia McMillan; four grandchildren, Janyia, Zaylon, Amaya and Karson; three siblings, Phyllis Burton, Hemet, California, Cynthia (Lawrence) LaCour, Los Angeles and Lawrence Burton, Hemet, California; Brother-in-law, Floyd (Estella)McMillan, Bellflower, California, and Thomas (Debbie) McMillan, Mobile, Alabama; host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; special friends, Elizabeth Horn, Brenda Anders, Leda Johnson, Virtue Austin, Louise Evans and Amanda Grandison.
