William Joseph Hendricks, Jr. – died Sunday, December 30, 2018 at his residence. Bill was born to Betty and William Hendricks on July 11, 1933 in Houston, Texas. He moved to Mobile in 1940 where he attended St. Matthew Catholic School until the eighth grade, he attended St. Joseph Catholic School for that one year. He attended McGill Institute in high school. His first job was at Davis Motor Supply. He married in 1953 to Frances Mayher and joined the National Guard and was drafted in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. In 1956 he was discharged from the Army and went to work for Mobile Electric Garage as a salesman. In 1986, Bill and his brother, Jimmy, bought Mobile Electric Garage and operated it until they divested it in 1999. During his lifetime, he was president of REACT; also he and his wife were president of Independent Fun Lovers. He was a member of the Mystic Stripers from 1967 until his death, and was also King Striper once in 1997 and again in 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Frances M. Hendricks; his parents, Betty Henson and William J. Hendricks, Sr.; one son, Kevin Edward Hendricks; and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hendricks, and Betty Jo Donoghue. Mr. Hendricks is survived by his children, William J. “Billy” (Cindy) Hendricks, III, Rebecca Lynne (Tommy) Lee, and Gregory Lee (Patsy) Hendricks, Sr.; seven grandchildren, Christy (Gary) Atkins, Mindy (Oliver Troupe) Hendricks, T. J. (Amanda) Lee, Kevin (Collen) Lee, Brooks (Morgan) Lee, Gregory (Jessica) Hendricks, Jr., and Melissa (Dewayne) Lavelle; seventeen great-grandchildren, Trea (Brittany Raymond) Atkins, William Atkins, Shane Troupe, Bre’ Troupe, Taylor Troupe, Becca Anne Lee, Thomas Lee, III, Ella lee, Norah Lee, Sawyer Lee, Palmer Lavelle, Maddox Lavelle, Preston Lavelle, Charlotte Lavelle, Ansleigh Hendricks, Payton Hendricks, and Gregory Hendricks, III; and one great-granddaughter, Emerson Atkins. The family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Little Flower Catholic Church with the Rosary at 10:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Thursday at Little Flower Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A church service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, 01/03/2019 from Little Flower Catholic Church, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
