William Jackson Adams transitioned peacefully to eternal life at 1:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, in Fairhope. After graduation from Murphy High School, Mr. Adams joined the National Guard in Mobile and received an honorable discharge in 1965. He was a member of the Mountain Brook Police Department of Birmingham for eleven years and was the owner of Lakewood Stables for more than thirty years. He spent much of his time training horses for Mardi Gras parades in both Mobile and Baldwin counties, guiding trail rides, hosting summer camps for children with a love of horses, and providing horses to the Boys and Girls Club, Camp Rap a Hope, and the Girl Scouts for earning badges and learning to care for their assigned equine partner. He was a member of the Conde Cavaliers for more than fifteen years, and later he and his wife joined the Krewe of Marry Mates. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon Poole Adams of Summerdale; his sons, William John (Sandra) Adams of Fairhope and James Richard (Valerie) Adams of Duluth, Ga.; his daughter, Kimberly Darlene Adams of Summerdale; his grand-daughters, Jordan and Allison Adams, both of Fairhope; his grandson, Kendall Adams of Duluth; and his brothers, Michael Adams and David Adams, both of Mobile. He was preceded in death by his father, William Jackson Adams, Sr.; his mother, Mary Nelson Adams; and his older sister, Patsy Adams Williams of Mobile. Graveside services for William Jackson Adams Jr. of Summerdale will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, 01/13/21.
