Billy Wayne Cherry, Sr., a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the age of 75. He was a contractor and built many custom homes in the Mobile area. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, cooking and growing many varieties of peppers. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mamie Elizabeth Cherry; his parents, Lorenzo Grey Cherry and Mary Ellen Eaves Cherry, and his wife, Lynn Cherry. His survivors include his son, Billy Wayne Cherry, Jr.; granddaughter, Lauren Leigh Cherry and Cameron Cooper; great-granddaughter, Alleigh Elizabeth Cooper; his sister, Betty Nobles; cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
A chapel service will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, 10/22/2019 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
