Cary “Cakey” Thomas Hamilton, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Friday, March 8, 2019, at the age of 66.
He enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casinos; playing pool; assembling puzzles; fishing; playing cards; bowling and was an avid Alabama football fan.
Cary worked in the produce department of the New Market for his brother and provided lawn care for his neighbors and friends.
He was a member of Via Health Center on Dauphin Street in Mobile, AL and was recently the recipient of the 2018 Arlene F. Mitchell Award presented by the Via Health Fitness and Enrichment Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Arnez Hamilton, Sr. and Mary Lucille Johnson Hamilton; and two brothers, Vester Hamilton and Alex Hamilton.
His survivors include one brother, Howard Arnez (Jewel) Hamilton, Jr.; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; friends and his canine companion, “Wiggles”.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A chapel service will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, 03/13/2019 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
