Deborah Amanda Willard Roemer, a native of Mobile, AL and current resident of Ashland, AL, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the age of 53. She was an avid Florida State Football fan; enjoyed her computer; loved Little Debbie Cakes and wanted rice served on her plate with every meal. She helped her dear friend, Lonnie Peacock, raise his children; she spoke before the Florida State Legislature and was instrumental in the passage of Florida’s Disability Reform Act which allows those with disabilities to live on their own and was awarded a prestigious Citizenship Award by President Bill Clinton for her service to her community. She contributed much to many and was loved and admired by all who knew her. She will be sadly and greatly missed. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, William David Willard and her devoted companion, Lonnie P. Peacock. Her survivors include her mother, Glenda Howell Willard; her brother, David William (Robin) Willard; her sister, Ashley Leanne Willard and James W. Thompson, Jr.; two step-children, Joshua A. (Maranda) Quinn and Dalton Peacock; nephews, Jerrod David (Melonie) Willard, Ryan C. Willard, Zachary Willard, Cole Alexander Jackson, Julian James Thompson and James W.
