James Lee "Jim" Strickland, age 88, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Jim was born December 31, 1930 in Whistler, Alabama to Mary Esther Gaston Strickland and James Ira Strickland. Jim was a United States Marine Corps veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Jim retired from the Corps of Engineers.
Jim is survived by his wife, Maureen Strickland; daughter & son-in-law, Cindi Love (Rocky); son & daughter-in-law, Richard "Ricky" strickland (Kathleen); daughter & son-in-law, Phyllis Rinks (Les); step-son, Todd Faralli; step-daughter, Allison Faralli; sister, Betty Strickland; brother & sister-in-law, Donald "Don" Strickland (Judy); grandchildren, Jamie, Joshua, Chelsea, briana, Kyla, Marilyn, Gregory, and Nicolas; great-granddaughter, Gabrielle; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Ira Strickland; mother, Mary Esther Gaston Strickland; brother, Oliver "Smokey" Strickland; and grandchild, Christopher Wilcox.
A visitation for Jim will be held Friday, December 6, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606. A celebration of life will occur Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, Alabama 36619. Rev. A chapel service will be held at 2pm on Friday, 12/06/2019 from Radndy's Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
