Condolences For
"Joseph Keezel"

  1. Many a night this young man has slept at my house, ate at my table and made us laugh. He was a friend of my sons Logan Merchant for years through high school and beyond. Joey always came in with a smile and open arms wanting a hug. I loved him dearly. I have seen him more than once battle the demons of addiction. I know he had come a long ways and was doing great. Joey no longer has the battles but the ones he left behind have new battles to face now and I pray they find peace. There are no words I could express to make this any easier for them, I know they did all they could. I just want them to know that he was loved. Joey and I spoke more than once regarding his issues and he would tell me he so wanted the mess out of his life and he would be so proud when he would make it a week a month or months, he hated this about himself, he felt like the world was watching him. I would always remind him that he was loved and had people to stand behind him. I saw the boy grow into a man but he still had that boyish smile and laugh and quick wit. He hated letting people down. He was sooo smart, but drugs seemed to always get in the way, but when he was straight and good the world was such a better place. To his family and his wife I leave this: Joey brought joy to many people, he made me laugh many times. He was a friend to my son and he was always welcome in my house. I wish I had gotten one of his bear hugs one more time. But no longer will he fight the demons, and I feel assured he is happy and free now.
Fly high sweet Joey, my prayers are with your family.
    Mama Kelly
