Mae Carol Caskey Rehm, age 65, was a native of Meridian, Mississippi and resident of Mobile, Alabama. She was born January 30, 1956 and passed away August 31, 2021 at Springhill Medical Center in Mobile, AL. She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Dr. Christopher Joseph Rehm, Sr. and her seven children and (their spouses): Theresa and (Robert “Robin”) Rehm-Hamilton, Dr. Jennifer and (Dr. William “Will”) Porr, Sarah and (Brian) Duke, Dr. Christopher Rehm Jr., Dr. Charlie Rehm, Dr. Mary and (Adrian) Eves, and Philip Rehm. She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren: Marcus “Marc” Swafford Jr., Savannah Swafford, Joseph “JoJo” Rehm-Hamilton, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Porr, William Porr, Hannah Porr, Caskey Porr, Stephen Porr, Gianna “Gigi” Porr, Lucia “Lulu” Porr, Cecilia “CeCe” Eves, Christopher Adrian “A.J.” Eves, and Frederic “Freddy” Duke. She is survived by her four brothers and (their spouses): Robert and (Francis) Caskey, Frank and (Mac) Caskey, Charles and (Pat) Caskey, and Al and (Rebecca) Caskey. Brother-in-laws/Sister-in-laws: Dr. Mike and Mary Anne Rehm, Larry and Jeannette Rehm, Tommy and Donna Laws, Matt and Mia Laws, James and Virginia Chappell, Jane “Janie” and Rick Roller, and Kay “Kutz” Rehm. Also, numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren who will miss her terribly. She is preceded in death by these individuals: Ina Mae Townsend Caskey (Mother), Robert Gonzaga Caskey (Father), Lola “Barry” Rehm Robichaux (Sister-in-law), Robert “Bob” Robichaux (Brother-in-law), Joe Caskey (Uncle), Grace Rehm (Mother-in-law), and Charles “Charlie” Rehm (Father-in-Law). Mae graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked at a bank and taught special education briefly working with handicapped children. She then helped her husband start his veterinary practice, Rehm Animal Clinic. She is most well known as the CEO and professional homemaker of the Rehm family while raising seven children and thirteen grandchildren. Volunteer work and Pro-life Advocacy were her lifelong passion, and she gave selflessly of her time and talents to help others. She was the director of the Mobile 40 Days for Life (a 501c3 organization) and made it her mission to end abortion with the campaign.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with the Rosary at 11:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Monday from Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

    I am saddened to hear of Mae’s passing. Everyone that knew her, and those that knew of her, loved her. A more devoted and compassionate soul would be difficult to find. Please accept my most sincere condolences for your loss. Please also take comfort in the assurance that she has received her eternal heavenly reward, and is even now in the loving arms of God. She is Home. Praise the Lord.
