Entrance to Mobile Memorial GardensA graveside memorial service for Samuel Power will be held at the cemetery 9:00AM  on Friday, 08/22/2014. Family and friends will meet at the Three Notch Rd entrance and drive to the burial site together.

May 25, 1935-August 18, 2014 Samuel Henry Power, native of Newnan, GA born May 25, 1935 dies August 18, 2014. Mr. Power is survived by two children: Samuel C. Power (wife Joyce Ann Power); and Anna Marie Chapman (husband Jeffrey M. Chapman); grandchildren – Ansleigh Power Townsend (John M.), Hannah Power, Samuel N. Power, Madison Chapman, and Jeffrey M. Chapman II; two sisters Patricia McDade and Polly Power; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Power is a graduate of the University of Georgia and attended Southeastern Theological Seminary. He was an avid Georgia fan, fisherman and hunter. Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church (1204 Hillcrest Road), from 5-7 pm on Wednesday August 20, 2014. A graveside service will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens (6100 Three Notch Road) on Friday August 22, 2014 at 9 AM.

  • This is really hard to believe since he sounded so good when I talked to him the other day about a family reunion. Wish I could be with you but there is no way I can get down there. Mike, Bart and I send our love. I am so sorry for your loss.

  • Sam and I attended church together. He was such a good man and I always enjoyed talking the Gospel with him and I still miss his reading scripture during our service and when we worked Loaves and Fishes together. I wish all of his family and other friends the Peace of the Lord.

  • We only knew Sam for a short time, but he enriched our lives with his knowledge,
    quick wit and generosity. He was a blessing to us and we want to pass condolences along to his family. God bless.
